For Grantseekers

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all Fairfield County residents, especially the disadvantaged, by increasing effective philanthropy. To read more about our new strategic plan and focus of grantmaking, click here.

The Fairfield County Community Foundation stewards many different funds. Together, these funds reflect the diverse charitable passions of Fairfield County residents and companies—and the shared desire to make a difference.

Competitive grants are awarded from the Foundation's Discretionary and Field of Interest Funds and reflect the Foundation's priority program areas and countywide initiatives.

Competitive grants are awarded during specific grantmaking cycles, which are updated on an annual basis.

In addition to working closely with Foundation donors, we broker community needs to corporate and family foundations and private as well as public funders. This generates millions of new charitable dollars to address local and regional needs. In fiscal 2007, the Foundation's brokering resulted in $1.8 million in additional grants to benefit Fairfield County.
