Live-Love-Laugh: Creating Livable Communities
For all ages where people grow up and grow old
Featuring Views from New York and Across Connecticut Lindsay Goldman, Director of Healthy Aging New York Academy of Medicine and Age-Friendly NYC and Julia Evans Starr, former Executive Director of Connecticut’s Legislative Commission on Aging
Baby Boomers represent 33% of Connecticut’s population. In 14 years, the over age 60 population is expected to increase by 64%. Are we prepared for this shift? What does it mean to small towns and larger cities? How will home sales, construction, healthcare and transportation needs change? Have Baby Boomers saved enough to retire? The Breakfast will raise awareness and provide tools and a pathway for municipalities to collaborate on key areas of potential development.
Join local leaders, residents, officials, and organizations to learn more about creating neighborhoods that reflect the evolving needs and preferences of all their residents. Our speakers will discuss what works, and key initiatives for accessible communities where older adults can retain their dignity and age in place.
