4th Annual Speaker’s Luncheon To Benefit Star Featuring Elizabeth Smart

Elizabeth Smart, abduction survivor and author of the New York Times best seller, “My Story,” will speak at STAR’s Fourth Annual Speaker’s Luncheon” on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Woodway Country Club from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. to benefit STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way… programs and services for those with intellectual disabilities and their families. Elizabeth Smart’s story is one of perseverance and faith, due to her abduction as a child and eventual return to her parents and society. As victim turned advocate, Smart has penned two publications, the New York Times best seller, “My Story” and a Department of Justice publication entitled, “You’re Not Alone: The Journey from Abduction to Empowerment.” She has also founded the Elizabeth Smart Foundation and her helped promote the National AMBER Alert, The Adam Walsh Child Protection & Safety Act and safety legislation to prevent abductions. In addition, Elizabeth attended Brigham Young University as a harp performance major. She married her husband Matthew in 2012.
Tickets to the luncheon are $90 and VIP Tickets which include a champagne meet & greet are $150. A table of up to 12 people is $1,100. Sponsorships are $500 and up. All proceeds benefit STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way’s programs and services for infants, children, adults and seniors who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
