SUMMARY:Deep Listening with Community Mindfulness Project (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:Mindful Listening + Speaking: Deep listening to understand the needs and interests of the communities we serve is an essential skill for nonprofits. \nJoin Community Mindfulness Project for a morning workshop of Mindful Listening + Speaking. This highly interactive workshop combines the principles of mindfulness and non-violent communication. Attendees build the skills\, trust and confidence needed to listen to others and to speak in a way that we can be heard. \nThose in the nonprofit space are working to improve the lives of others:  we seek to identify unmet needs and then foster the conditions that will enable them to be met.  We can best serve our communities\, by listening to what they have to tell us about their lived experiences – what their needs and interests are\, and the change that is needed.  Service without asking and listening can cause resources to be wasted\, or worse\, can cause harm. \nPersonally\, being heard is a deeply healing experience.  In fact\, it could be argued that much of the suffering and conflict in our country today stems from people of all backgrounds feeling unseen and unheard. During this workshop\, most of the time will be spent engaged in practices that allow people to speak and to listen\, to hear\, and be heard in order to foster a deep sense of peace and a strong sense of optimism about future interactions. \nThe workshop material is based on the Marshall Rosenberg’s Non-Violent Communication work\, the system outlined in the Harvard Negotiating Project’s Getting to Yes\, and Oren Sofer’s Mindful Communication. \n  \nRegister Now

SUMMARY:Abundance Leadership Workshop for Nonprofit Leaders of Color
DESCRIPTION:FCCF’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence\, in partnership with Organizational Performance Group (OPG)\, is offering this special free-of-cost training to help strengthen and uplift our nonprofit leaders of color. \nJoin us on December 13th from 9am – 11am virtually and explore how the Abundance Leadership™ model can help you to surmount obstacles\, build commitment and enthusiasm company-wide\, and see the possibilities in all situations. \nIn this workshop\, OPG will share an overview of findings about leaders who work from a scarcity mental model\, versus those who work from an abundance mental model. \nScarcity leaders see the world as an inherently difficult place without enough resources.
