Together, let’s meet our goal of raising $250K! Thanks to a $75,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor, your contribution now will go twice as far.
This is the moment to invest in women & girls.
Women and girls in Fairfield County—and beyond—are navigating a world of rapid change, new challenges, and shifting opportunities. From economic disparities to threats against their rights and freedoms, the stakes have never been higher. But together, we will chart a new path ahead.
For over 30 years, The Fund for Women & Girls has led the charge in our community—funding critical programs, advocating for systemic change, and bringing together those who believe in a future where every woman and girl can thrive.
Together, in steadfast commitment to this vision, we are working to raise $250,000 to support the Fund’s strategic grantmaking, advocacy, and impact initiatives in this critical moment. And, thanks to a $75,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor, your donation now can go even further.

“The Fund for Women & Girls is dedicated to systemic and lasting change, not temporary fixes, and I have seen how providing lift for women and children creates a multiplier effect that benefits everyone in our community. In order for our community to thrive, it is crucial that we continue to support these programs and initiatives, especially now when women’s and girls’ rights and access to basic needs are under threat.”

“The first thing I did when relocating to Connecticut was connect with The Fund for Women & Girls. It quickly became a home where I could engage with like-minded women dedicated to improving outcomes for women and girls in our community. ‘The Time is Now: Women Charting the Path Ahead’ is a call to action, reminding us that by investing in women’s leadership and economic opportunity today, we are shaping a more just and equitable future for all.”

Charting a Brighter Future So Every Woman and Girl Thrives
Women in Fairfield County, especially single mothers, earn significantly less than men, perpetuating cycles of poverty that affect generations. But together, we can chart a new future—one where every woman and girl in Fairfield County has the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive.
In 2024 alone, The Fund for Women & Girls awarded nearly $1 million in grants to local organizations making a real difference in women’s lives. The Fund drives strategic investments that create lasting impact in our communities – supporting collaborative programs that improve health outcomes, empower women and girls to break barriers, and advance opportunity for those most at risk of being left behind.
With a focused strategy on funding collaborative initiatives that address both the immediate needs of women & girls and efforts to create long-term, sustainable change, we know that learning and listening are vital to success – as seen in this recent report on the emme coalition, a three-year funding initiative for FWG that concluded in 2024. Our FWG community supported significant benefits in connecting women to tools to improve their relationships, social and financial wellbeing, utilization of healthcare services and more.
We are taking a similar approach with our Black Maternal Health Initiative, launched in 2023 to address the urgent Black maternal health disparities. The statistics in Fairfield County–and nationally- are stark and demand immediate action. Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than their white peers. Black babies face disproportionately higher risks, with low birth-weight rates twice that of white babies and infant mortality rates three times as high.
And while the BMHI is making strides, we must do more to eliminate racial disparities in maternal care. Your support will help us continue to train more doulas, provide anti-bias training to healthcare professionals, and collaborate with community partners.

“I feel privileged to support the vital work of The Fund for Women & Girls. Programs like The Black Maternal Health Initiative exemplify the high-quality, impactful efforts that truly make a difference in the lives of women and girls.”
