DESCRIPTION:Forward Fairfield County: A Day of Data-Driven Conversation will offer compelling presentations & discussions about two new studies including the 2019 Fairfield County Community Wellbeing Index and research from The Fund for Women & Girls at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. Register Today!  \n\nMORNING SESSION: 2019 Fairfield County Community Wellbeing Index\n8:00 AM to 12:30 PM\nOur morning session will feature keynote speaker\, Jacqueline Rabe Thomas of The CT Mirror\, addressing the role of data in achieving community impact. We’ll also host facilitated interactive conversations to explore the ways data and the 2019 Fairfield County Community Wellbeing Index\, which helps us better understand the complex issues impacting the people and places of our county\, can inform community impact efforts throughout the region. By focusing on the interrelationship between quality of life indicators\, education\, health\, and economic competitiveness\, we can better appreciate successes\, identify challenges\, and achieve cross-sector solutions. Register Today!  \nMorning Keynote:\n\nJacqueline Rabe Thomas\nEducation and Children’s Issues reporter\nThe CT Mirror\n\nJacqueline won two first prizes from the national Education Writers Association for her work in 2012 – one in beat reporting for her overall education coverage\, and the other in investigative reporting on a series of stories revealing questionable monetary and personnel actions taken by the Board of Regents for Higher Education. In 2016\, she was a finalist in the EWA competition for single-topic coverage for her reporting on how schools are funded in Connecticut. \n\nAFTERNOON SESSION: 2019 Research from The Fund for Women & Girls\n12:30 PM to 4:30 PM\nIn our afternoon session\, you’ll hear from keynote speaker\, Ted Bunch of A Call to Men\, on his internationally recognized work advancing gender equity utilizing an inclusive approach and how local organizations are responding to the needs and challenges Fairfield County women and girls face. The afternoon’s conversations will include key highlights from our newly commissioned research\, Count Her In: A Status Report on Women and Girls in Fairfield County and Count Them In: A Landscape Analysis of Fairfield County Organizations Supporting Women and Girls. Attendees will leave with specific strategies and action steps to inform their work and advance all aspects of women and girls’ lives. This session includes lunch. Register Today!  \nAfternoon Keynote:\n\nTed Bunch\nChief Development Officer\nA CALL TO MEN \nTed Bunch is an educator\, activist and lecturer working to end all forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls. Bunch is Chief Development Officer of A Call to Men and is internationally recognized for his efforts to prevent violence against women while promoting a healthy\, respectful manhood.
