Help support Fairfield County’s Giving Day by making a purchase at a Whole Foods Market in Fairfield County on March 3rd!
On March 3rd, Whole Foods Markets will donate 5% of their total revenues from their Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich and Westport stores to directly benefit local nonprofits and power “Get Up And Give” launch prizes for Fairfield County’s 2016 Giving Day on March 10th.
More than 400 participating nonprofits throughout Fairfield County will be competing for these coveted “Get Up And Give” prizes. The prizes will incentivize donors to donate early and quickly on March 10, Fairfield County’s Giving Day, in order to receive a $1,000 grant prize for their favorite nonprofit. All community members are urged to shop ‘til you drop on March 3rd and tell your neighbors and friends too!
“Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is honored to partner with a business that is a socially conscious, philanthropic champion in the community like Whole Foods Market,” states Juanita James, CEO and President, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. “Giving Day is close to our hearts because we come together as a community to support our neighbors and achieve something HUGE. Last year, $1,066,000 was raised in just 24 hours. We aim to break records in giving this year!”
On March 3rd, local Whole Foods Market locations will also host area nonprofits participating in Giving Day to showcase their missions and causes. In Darien, Domus Kids Inc. and Ferguson Library will be featured; Westport will host Earthplace; Wakeman Boys and Girls Club & Center for Family Justice will be featured in Fairfield; Danbury will host DAWS (Danbury Animal Welfare Society); and Abilis in Greenwich.
How to support Fairfield County’s Giving Day:
For the third year, Fairfield County’s Giving Day allows residents and businesses to ‘give where they live.’ This fundraising marathon is spearheaded by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation to empower the greater community and encourage local philanthropy. Here’s how you can help:
- Shop at Whole Foods Markets in Danbury, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich and Westport on March 3rd. 5% of your purchase will support “Get Up & Give” launch prizes for nonprofits participating in Fairfield County’s Giving Day.
- Enter the Giving Day sweepstakes sponsored by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. Through 5 pm on March 10th, enter for a chance to win a $1,000 donation to your favorite participating nonprofit on Giving Day.
- Starting 12:00 am on March 10th, go to FCGives.org and choose your favorite local causes to support. Donations as modest as $10 add up. AND, your donation can help your favorite nonprofit win grant prizes up to $25,000.
