In addition to the General Eligibility Criteria, these scholarships have specific donor-defined eligibility requirements. Please read each scholarship description carefully and address the specific requirements in the scholarship listing.
Technical School Graduate
Edward C. Hawley Scholarship
- Must be a high school or state technical school graduate from a school in these Greater Bridgeport Area cities and towns: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- For study at an accredited college in the field of industrial arts (including but not limited to: architecture, automotive mechanics, building construction, computer aided design, drafting, electrical engineering, electronics, mechanical drawing, metals, technology education).
- Graduate of Bullard-Havens Tech preferred but not required.
Law School
Greater Bridgeport Bar Association Scholarship (Not offered every year)
- Must be a resident in one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- The recipient will have graduated from a college or university, has been accepted into a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and plans to enter the first year at that law school at the beginning of the next semester.
- Demonstrate community involvement & good academic achievements.
- Renewable scholarship with submission of renewal application and transcript for up to 2 more years.
Healthcare
Health Related Studies Scholarship
- Must be a resident in one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Must be pursuing specialized studies in any health-related field/intended occupation related to healthcare.
Cancer Survivor
Jeff Keith Scholarship
- Must be a resident in one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Applicant must be a cancer survivor or currently has cancer.
- Must be a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a program at 4-year a college or university.
Special Education
Karen Telickey Scholarship
- Have a connection to one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns, either as a native resident, high school graduate, or current resident: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Must be a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a program at a
4-year college or university. - Must be pursuing a career in Special Education.
- Applicants must be entering their junior year, senior year, or graduate school.
Industrial Accident
L’Ambiance Scholarship
- Must be a high school or state technical school graduate from a school in these Greater Bridgeport Area cities and towns: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Awarded to a student whose immediate family has been affected by an industrial accident.
Religion or Medical School
May Camp & Webster Upson Walker Scholarship Fund
- Must be from one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns, either as a native resident, high school graduate, or current resident: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Must be continuing their education in the religion or medical fields (including a certificate program, college or advanced studies degree).
- Preference also given to students planning on working in the greater Bridgeport area after graduation.
- Must be attending a college/university within Connecticut
Sacred Heart
Megan Cobb & Jason Kern Scholarship
- Must be a full-time student attending Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
- NOTE: This scholarship is ONLY OPEN TO SHU students, regardless of location of permanent residence or high school attended.
Architecture
Theodore Muller Scholarship
- Have a connection to the 9 Town Greater Bridgeport Area either as a native resident, high school graduate, or current resident. (Bridgeport, Fairfield, Westport, Easton, Trumbull, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, and Milford)
- Must demonstrate strong academic achievement with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be majoring in Architecture.
Healthcare
The Employees Tuberculosis and Respiratory Association (ETRA) Health Scholarship
- Available to current full-time undergraduate or graduate student and to graduating high school seniors enrolled at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Open to students that are residents of any Fairfield County town.
- Be pursuing specialized study in the medical or health fields.
- Demonstrate community involvement.
- Renewable scholarship with submission of renewal application and transcript.
Regional Junior or Senior
Ulysses J. Dunne and Ulysses J. Dunne, Jr. Scholarship
- Must be from one of these Greater Bridgeport Area cities or towns, either as a native resident, high school graduate, or current resident: Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull or Westport.
- Must be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in a 4-year regional accredited college or university.
- Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year.
- If awarded to a junior, recipient receives scholarship for their junior year and can renew for their senior year. If awarded to a senior, recipient receives the scholarship just for that senior year.
