Empowering today’s youth for tomorrow’s in-demand careers
We are excited to launch a groundbreaking new initiative! Career Pathways for Youth is designed to break down barriers and create clear pathways for young adults ages 18-25 to thrive in high-demand career sectors across Fairfield County.
Why we’re investing in Career Pathways for Youth
Access to quality education and meaningful employment are essential to closing opportunity gaps and fostering economic prosperity. By bringing key stakeholders together, we’re fostering a collaborative approach that drives systems change. This initiative is about building connections, supporting talent, and opening doors to real career opportunities.
Beginning with a healthcare pilot partnership, Career Pathways for Youth emphasizes the importance of collective action to drive lasting change. And this is just the beginning — our vision is to expand into other industries as the program grows.

“Our region cannot reach its full economic potential without robust cross-sector collaboration and the inclusion of all residents in quality workforce opportunities.”

President & CEO
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation
Pilot partnership launch: healthcare pathways
The first phase of this initiative is an investment in Fairfield County’s healthcare sector, supporting a collaboration between higher education institutions, hospital systems, and community-based organizations in Bridgeport and Norwalk.
Together with trusted partners Nuvance Health and Connecticut State Community College (CT State) – and new collaborative partners to be announced soon – young adults enrolled at CT State’s Norwalk or Housatonic campuses will gain skills, training, and mentorship to launch thriving careers in healthcare, with courses beginning in Fall 2025.
