Help meet the surge of hunger in our community today, and build stronger systems for our future.
Hunger doesn’t end when holiday giving is over. A donation to the Fairfield County Food Security Fund provides rapid-response support to get food where it’s needed most so families, children, seniors, veterans, and neighbors can count on their next meal.
Your gift also strengthens our county’s food network over the long term: powering advocacy work and fueling flexible grants that help local partners both meet urgent needs, and build more resilient systems.
Thank you for supporting your neighbors.
Meeting an Urgent Need
Vulnerable households in Fairfield County are under increasing pressure as federal food security program funding and eligibility changes take effect in 2026.

Strengthening Local Food Networks
The Fund intentionally supports nonprofits and grassroots organizations addressing rising food insecurity in Fairfield County.
Neighborhood food banks, pantry programs and grassroots food distribution networks like mutual aid and churches
Organizations serving veterans and people reentering the community from incarceration
School and afterschool nutrition programs, and food pantries at community colleges
Local farms and growers who supply underserved communities, and are impacted by funding cuts
We are now accepting grant applications on a rolling basis, until all available funds have been expended. Learn more & apply.
“We feel very confident that the Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s professional team will address hunger and food insecurity as effectively and timely as possible. We have great respect for their insight and connection to local change makers .”
