Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Announces Kristy Jelenik, Development Director
November 14, 2016, NORWALK, CT – With a passion for promoting philanthropy creatively with the greatest impact for positive change for the Fairfield County community, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation has announced the appointment of Kristy Jelenik as the Development Director.
Kristy Jelenik joined Fairfield County’s Community Foundation in 2013 after a decade of working with nonprofits in Connecticut and New York. “ Kristy Jelenik has been a key asset to the Community Foundation. As a development professional, she works with our community of donors and excels in building relationships while formulating a variety of options for each individual or fund. Her personal approach to learning more about giving goals and providing guidance to help make the greatest impact is a quality we highly value,” stated Juanita James, CEO & President, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.

As the Development Director, Ms. Jelenik will be creating and implementing a comprehensive cultivation and stewardship program that includes tailored strategies for all major prospects and donors. Since she joined Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, she has supported the overall fundraising and donor relationship-building efforts. She played a key role in raising over $1 million for our Community Impact Fund that supports the Foundation’s efforts to make an impact on critical needs in our region.
Since its inception, Ms. Jelenik led the team that organized Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Giving Day. In 2016, just 24 hours, over 11,000 individuals donated $1.25 million in support of 410 nonprofit organizations from throughout the County.
Ms. Jelenik has a Masters degree in Urban Affairs and Planning from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Political Science and Government from the University of South Carolina.
Ms. Jelenik lives in Fairfield, CT with her husband, two sons and their black lab named Max.
