Fairfield County’s Community Foundation CEO Named By SAVOY as One of the Most Influential Black Corporate Directors

Juanita T. James Joins Savoy’s Powerful 300

(Norwalk, CT) Savoy Magazine, the leading African-American culture, business and lifestyle publication, announced their 2016 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors this month. Juanita T. James, CEO and President, Fairfield County, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation was selected by Savoy Magazine and included in this prestigious list, because of her role as a Director of the Asbury Automotive Group, Inc. headquartered in Duluth, GA. The announcement of the Power 300: 2016 Most Influential Black Corporate Directors listing was made with the release of Savoy’s Summer issue.

Savoy is the leading business magazine reporting on African American success and achievement. Savoy’s Most Influential Black Corporate Directory is the premier listing of African-American executives, influencers and achievers contributing leadership to corporate boards.

According to Savoy Magazine, in addition to her corporate directorship, Juanita also plays a community leadership role. She is a Corporator for First County Bank, and a Trustee of Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, as well as a Trustee Emerita of Princeton University. Her commitment to the community has been acknowledged with numerous honors and awards including: NAACP “100 Most Influential Blacks in CT”, “Achievement Award” from the Greater New York Chapter of Links and the Stamford “Citizen of the Year” Award.

About Juanita T. James

Juanita T. James was Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Pitney Bowes Inc. Prior to Pitney Bowes, James built a progressive 20-year career in the media and entertainment industry with Time Warner, Inc. and Bertelsmann, Inc. Currently, James is President & Chief Executive Officer at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation.

In her community leadership role, James is a Corporator for First County Bank, and a Trustee of Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, as well as a Trustee Emerita of Princeton University and former Trustee of the University of Connecticut. James’ commitment to the community has been acknowledged with numerous honors and awards including: NAACP “100 Most Influential Blacks in CT”, Stamford “Citizen of the Year Award”, “Achievement Award” from the Greater New York Chapter of Links and the YMCA “National Black Achiever in Industry Award”.

James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages from Princeton University and a Master’s degree in Business Policy from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business Program where she received the Distinguished Service Award.
