Helping Youth Reach Their Potential

For nearly 20 years, Ridgefield resident Robert Salaga has trusted the Community Foundation to guide his philanthropic journey.

“I love everything the Community Foundation does to help individuals figure out how to give back to the community in a meaningful way,” said Salaga.

Salaga, a human resource professional, and his wife Heather, a real estate broker, have shared their expertise with organizations like Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity. Through a recurring monthly contribution, they also support the Community Foundation’s Youth Education & Career Development Fund and other funds that align with their focus on helping young people identify career pathways. Looking forward, the couple hopes to amplify their impact and set an example for their two daughters.

“Right now, we support the funds that exist today, but we’re looking to expand,” Salaga said. “The Community Foundation has done a remarkable job opening our eyes to what’s needed— and to the art of the possible.”
