Is Your Fund Solving Problems?
Jan 27, 2026
This year, fund holders can make a real impact by using modern, community-focused giving strategies centered on long-term resilience, technology, and collaboration.
When people give together, they can pool resources for bigger projects, involve more donors, and help local voices be heard. This collaboration builds trust, social connections, and enables coordinated efforts to solve larger problems. By joining forces, communities can support new ideas, improve infrastructure, encourage leadership, and create stronger networks that last beyond one-time gifts.
Here are several practical ways you can make a real difference as a fund holder:
Support community-led and collective giving models. Join or support giving circles, mutual aid groups, and local projects where people pool resources and make decisions together. These efforts build trust, strengthen community bonds, and give residents the power to create change.
Make impact investing part of your philanthropic strategy. Go beyond traditional grantmaking by using blended finance models that mix grants with program-related investments (PRIs), social impact bonds, or partnerships with like-minded investors. Focus on areas like health, housing, food security, or youth and career development, where you can achieve social outcomes in support of our community.
Contribute to FCCF’s Community Impact Fund. Strengthen nonprofits that address the full spectrum of challenges intersecting with hunger—housing stability, healthcare access, workforce support, and more.
Offer flexible, long-term support. Instead of giving only one-time, restricted grants, consider providing flexible, multi-year support. This gives nonprofits the stability and flexibility they need to handle challenges, grow stronger, and keep important services running, without always worrying about the next grant cycle.
Encourage leveraging technology for efficiency and transparency. Use digital platforms and AI tools to streamline grant management, track outcomes, and deliver real-time impact reports. This transparency builds trust and ensures resources are allocated efficiently and equitably, supporting a data-driven approach to addressing needs and gaps.
Act as a convener and amplifier. Leverage your position and network to unite diverse stakeholders, including local leaders, government agencies, and other funders, to address shared challenges. Amplify effective solutions by supporting local talent, bridging funding gaps, and sharing best practices to strengthen the ecosystem for sustained forward progress, together.
