Communities Thrive When Economic Growth Includes Everyone
Jun 25, 2025
Dear Friend,
Recently, I shared the results of new research that shows just how powerful inclusive growth could be for Fairfield County: if we close opportunity gaps, our region could see a $15.6 billion boost to GDP. The ripple effects would be transformative—$36.6 billion in increased home values, $603 million more in local property tax revenue, and $1.2 billion more in state income tax revenue.
That kind of growth means real change: better schools, upgraded infrastructure, expanded transit, and more support for the people who make our communities work—teachers, nurses, first responders, and healthcare workers. Families could move beyond financial insecurity and help fuel a more dynamic, resilient region.
Earlier this month, something extraordinary happened.
We brought together more than 100 leaders from every sector of Fairfield County—business, government, education, healthcare, philanthropy, and the nonprofit world—to ask a bold question: What would it take to unlock this potential?
The energy in the room was electric. It was a rare and powerful moment—a cross-sector coalition united by the belief that we can do more, and do better, together. We explored the data, identified barriers, and began mapping a path forward. It wasn’t just a meeting—it was the start of a movement.
Now comes the most important step: action.
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is committing our time, talent, and resources to help build a Regional Partnership for Inclusive Economic Growth—but we can’t do it alone.
We need partners who will:
- Join us as founding members, funders, or advisors
- Share insights, research, and workforce needs
- Amplify the initiative — by hosting conversations, presenting the Upside Report, or bringing others to the table
If you believe in a stronger, more inclusive Fairfield County, now is the time to act.
Contact us to get involved. Let’s turn momentum into movement—and possibility into progress.
