Share Your Expertise With Our Nonprofit Community!

The Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is seeking experienced consultants and nonprofit service providers to support our nonprofit community. For the FY27 program year, CNE is looking for experienced facilitators, trainers, coaches, and subject matter experts to lead learning opportunities as part of the following initiatives:

  • Soup to Nuts: Fundamentals of Nonprofit Management
  • Shared Learning Sessions for our Communities of Practice
  • Stand-alone Webinars on timely and relevant nonprofit topics

We anticipate selecting multiple facilitators throughout the fiscal year and encourage proposals from individuals with expertise across a range of nonprofit management and leadership topics. Selected facilitators may be invited to lead one or more sessions based on program needs, audience interest, and organizational priorities.

This year, we are intentionally focusing on the human-centered skills that help nonprofit professionals thrive as leaders, communicators, colleagues, and community builders. We welcome proposals on topics such as:

AI for Nonprofits

  • Crisis Communications
  • Burnout Prevention & Personal Sustainability
  • Leadership & People Management
  • Project Management
  • Networking & Professional Presence
  • Grant Writing
  • Volunteer Engagement
  • Facilitation & Meeting Design

…and other emerging issues facing the nonprofit sector.

We are particularly interested in facilitators who:

  • Live or work in Fairfield County, Connecticut, or the surrounding tri-state region.
  • Have demonstrated experience serving nonprofit organizations.
  • Bring practical, real-world examples and actionable tools.
  • Create engaging virtual learning experiences.
  • Reflect the diversity of the nonprofit sector and the communities it serves.

While FY26 focused on introducing new voices from across the country, FY27 intentionally prioritizes local expertise and regional practitioners. We remain grateful for the many national thought leaders we have partnered with and look forward to continuing those relationships through future opportunities.

Program Details

Soup to Nuts – 90-minute virtual professional development sessions focused on  essential nonprofit management and leadership skills.

Shared Learning Sessions – 1hr virtual programs for Communities of Practice that  combine practical learning with peer discussion.

Stand-alone Webinars – One-hour virtual presentations on timely topics that support  nonprofit organizations throughout the year.

Compensation

Most speaking engagements are compensated with a $250 honorarium.

This honorarium reflects the preparation and facilitation required for a typical virtual learning session. We anticipate that many presenters will build upon presentations, workshops, or materials they have already developed and successfully delivered. Our goal is to identify practical, high-quality content that has resonated with nonprofit audiences and provide an opportunity to share those ideas more broadly with our community.

For programs requiring significant customization, extensive preparation, multiple sessions, or specialized expertise, compensation may be negotiated based on the scope of work.

Proposal Requirements

Please submit a one-page proposal that includes:

  • A brief facilitator biography
  • Organization name (if applicable)
  • Geographic location
  • Title and description of the proposed session
  • Learning objectives
  • Brief outline or agenda
  • Intended audience
  • Links to your website, LinkedIn profile, or sample materials (optional)

Proposal Evaluation

Proposals will be assessed based on:

  • Alignment with the needs of nonprofit organizations in Fairfield County
  • Practical application and actionable takeaways
  • Quality of program design and participant engagement
  • Presenter experience and subject-matter expertise
