Women and girls in Fairfield County face urgent challenges—from economic inequality to threats to their rights. But together, we will chart a new path ahead.
This Spring, we’re raising funds to sustain and advance the Fund for Women & Girls’ strategic grantmaking, advocacy and impact initiatives —and, thanks to a $150,000 matching gift, your support now will have double the impact.
this is the moment to invest in women AND girls
Women in Fairfield County, especially single mothers, earn significantly less than men, perpetuating cycles of poverty that affect generations. The Fund for Women & Girls addresses these challenges by investing in community-based solutions, empowering young women, and advocating for policy change.

Charting a Brighter Future So Every Woman and Girl Thrives
The Fund for Women & Girls is leading the charge in our community—funding critical programs, advocating for systemic change, and uniting those who believe in a future where every woman and girl can thrive. Your gift is a direct investment in the future of our community, ensuring that women and girls have the necessary resources to succeed in education, healthcare, and economic opportunity.

Awarding Strategic Grants
In 2024 alone, The Fund for Women & Girls awarded nearly $1 million in grants to local organizations making a real difference in women’s lives. The Fund drives strategic investments that create lasting impact in our communities – supporting collaborative programs that improve health outcomes, empower women and girls to break barriers, and advance opportunity for those most at risk of being left behind.

Fueling Lasting Change
The Fund’s strategic approach is to listen, learn and fund work that address both immediate needs and long-term change. A report on the emme coalition, a three-year funding initiative that concluded in 2024, showed significant benefits in connecting women to tools to improve relationships, social and financial wellbeing, utilization of healthcare services and more.

Addressing Urgent Needs
Launched in 2023, our Black Maternal Health Initiative is now working to close the gap for Black mothers and babies in Fairfield County, who are three times more likely than their white peers to die from pregnancy-related causes or in infancy. Your support for the Fund will help train more doulas, provide awareness training to healthcare professionals, and more.

“I feel privileged to support the vital work of The Fund for Women & Girls. Programs like The Black Maternal Health Initiative exemplify the high-quality, impactful efforts that truly make a difference in the lives of women and girls.”
