In 1970, Juanita James entered Princeton University as a member of the second class of women ever admitted by this Ivy League institution. Fourteen years later, she became Princeton’s first black female trustee. She went on to build a progressive career in the media and entertainment industry, earning prestigious awards and titles. Then, she left the for-profit world.
“I had broken through so many glass ceilings,” says James. “But I felt something else calling me.”
