Strengthening the Fabric of Our Community
Help local changemakers turn ideas into action, and action into hope. Donate to our Community Impact Fund by December 31st!

Your generosity & partnership is creating a more vibrant future.
The fabric of our community is made from countless threads — people, ideas, and resources pulled together with care and purpose. Alone, a single thread is fragile. But woven together, many threads create something strong enough to hold us all. Your year-end gift will add another strong thread to the whole, helping Fairfield County nonprofits and community leaders turn ideas into action.

“I love everything the Community Foundation does to help individuals figure out how to give back to the community in a meaningful way. They have done a remarkable job opening our eyes to what’s needed—and to the art of the possible.”
Robert Salaga, Ridgefield, CT
A message from our President & CEO
Dear Friend,
At a time of national uncertainty and mounting pressure on our social safety net, it can feel like the fabric of our community might fray. Nonprofits near and far are being asked to do even more with less. But in response, we see Fairfield County neighbors, leaders, and donors coming together to strengthen the weave — turning ideas into action, and action into hope.
2025 has been a year of real progress. The Community Foundation was able to launch a pilot to help local young adults build family-supporting careers in healthcare, and advance a Black Maternal Health Initiative to ensure mothers and babies receive the care they need. We also brought more than 1,500 people from 500+ local organizations together to build partnerships, work for the public good, and strengthen the common threads that hold our community together.
Yet, the challenges remain urgent. Too many families in Fairfield County continue to struggle to meet basic needs, while increasing disparities in housing, income, and opportunity hold our region back. That is why your support for our Community Impact Fund means so much. It is the thread that ties together all this work—from funding research and launching collaborations, to helping nonprofits grow and respond to urgent needs.
Thank you for being part of the fabric that makes Fairfield County strong. With your continued support, we’ll grow stronger still.

“I’m impressed with the Community Foundation’s vetting of nonprofits. With all the changes going on, I’m concerned about where nonprofit funding will come from, and I want to continue to direct my money where the need and the impact are the greatest.”
