Guests are invited to join us at 5 pm to view the exhibition in the Art Gallery and enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The keynote presentation and panel discussion will begin at 5:30pm in the GenRe Forum.
Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, in partnership with Norwalk Community College, presents Building CT’s Housing Future through the Practice of Democracy, a panel discussion that will grapple with the question, “How do we create just and inclusive built environments?” held in conjunction with the exhibition The Practice of Democracy: A View from Connecticut.
View the exhibition and then join us for a short overview of the history of redlining in Connecticut and how this history manifests itself today in our Fairfield County cities and towns, followed by a panel discussion about the ways citizens can get involved in our democracy to create systems change and a more equitable Fairfield County.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION, THE PRACTICE OF DEMOCRACY: A VIEW FROM CONNECTICUT
April 24 – June 2
Art Gallery, East Campus at Norwalk Community College
188 Richards Ave. Norwalk, CT
The exhibition, The Practice of Democracy: A View from Connecticut examines how justice, equality, and power appear in our built environment — our cities and neighborhoods, the places we call home.
The interactive exhibit was created in partnership with Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, The Housing Collective, and Regional Plan Association, which explores how — and for whom — Connecticut’s communities were designed.
