Fairfield County Thrives Episode 8: Mental Health for Children and Families in Connecticut

Jun 18, 2020

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the events and protests of the past few weeks, many in our community have experienced some level of anxiety or depression. Because of this, it’s now more important than ever to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and raise awareness on ways to access support all year round. Fortunately, there are many ways to get help and new opportunities for the future. Last month, which was Mental Health Awareness Month, our President & CEO, Juanita James, sat down to speak with Gail Melanson, the Executive Director of Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County, a nonprofit grantee and partner of the Community Foundation. Their organization is committed to providing effective outpatient mental and behavioral health services to children and families in the greater Norwalk region. We hope you appreciate the conversation.
