Exposing the Realities of the Racial Wealth Gap
Join us for an inspiring event featuring two powerhouse journalists, Louise Story and Ebony Reed, co-authors of the critically acclaimed book, Fifteen Cents on the Dollar: How Americans Made the Black-White Wealth Gap, praised by Morning Joe and The New York Times (Harper, June, 2024).
Produced in partnership with the Westport Library and Team Westport, the evening will explore the historic context of the racial wealth gap, the systemic disparities that still contribute to it and fresh perspectives on how change is possible.
In addition to a presentation by the authors, the event will include a conversation with Connecticut leaders who are active in driving change here in Fairfield County and the State. The panel includes:
Andrea Comer – Chief of Staff, Office of the Connecticut State Treasurer
Rep. Corey Paris – CT State Representative 145th District; Chief Impact Officer – Person-to-Person
Mendi Blue Paca – President & CEO Fairfield County’s Community Foundation
