Voting Will Make Fairfield County — and Connecticut — Stronger

Nov 04, 2022

This Election Day, a referendum to make Early Voting available in Connecticut is on the ballot – and it’s an opportunity to voice your support for making voting more accessible in Fairfield County and across the state.

Current CT election laws make it difficult for many eligible voters to exercise their fundamental constitutional right. In fact, Connecticut is one of only 4 states without in-person early voting — meaning that eligible voters in our state face disadvantages that don’t exist in much of the rest of the U.S.

This disproportionately impacts Black, Latinx, and low-income people —populations that are more likely to have inflexible work hours, face transportation challenges or serve as primary caregivers.

Early voting provides flexibility to those who want to vote — using the same processes and with the same checks and balances that already exist.

On November 8, you have the power to make a difference and make early voting a reality and advance equity in Fairfield County and throughout Connecticut.

You simply need to vote “Yes” on the Early Voting referendum question on Nov. 8 — and give Connecticut voters more freedom to choose how to participate in our democracy.
